Is there a flam3-for-dummies site/tutorial? having newbie issues with my first render

i'm trying to render http://v2d7c.sheepserver.net/cgi/dead.cgi?id=59350&detail=genome but i'm having issues doing so.

i started with flam3-render < file.flam3, but of course that gave me a still

i can't remember if i tried plain flam3-animate < file.flam3, but eventually i set being, end, and in. still got a single still image (or the same one over and over)

so THEN i attempted http://biomorphica.com/apophysis/animTutorial/ several times and eventually got a sequential set of images, however, the image has a wonky artifact. or at least something that looks different from the still (and video) posted on the site.

so i'm kinda back to square one and not sure what to do. ideas?

i'm assuming you use SET for windows, based on what else i've set. also, i never got it til reading it just now, but nframes makes sense. thanks!

we kinda need a sticky that explains this (and gives a step by step) for dumb people like me :D
