Windows 7 DPI scaling and esheep fullscreen incompatible
Thu, 01/27/2011 - 08:42 — thebigdudebowski
I have just determined that esheep is not currently compatible with Win7 text sizing (DPI scaling) @150%. Seems to work at 125%, though.
Turned my DPI up to 150%, esheep failed to go full screen, kills Aero display functionality, and the sheep play in a field on the top left of the screen without a window border (no exit/minimize/maximize buttons header, no draggable window borders)
Turned the DPI scaling back to default 100%, logged off/on, esheep works again. Hope this helps some other folks having full screen issues, and hope Scott can figure this one out soon... I have my sheep playing on a big screen TV monitor that also needs the DPI scaled up so I can read it w/o sitting 2 ft. from it.
tags# won't go full screen
Balloon message pops up:

With a little jury-rigging in
With a little jury-rigging in the task scheduler, I've managed to make this fix be activated on idle + delay and it pretty much works like a screensaver. Still would be nice to be able to set these settings on the regular screensaver.
i was having that same
i was having that same problem just now thank you
what version of the client do
what version of the client do you have?
ES is compatible with any DPI
Not going fullscreen can be caused by running in DirectDraw mode (Display tab, off by default, it is not implemented to work on multiple monitor systems, legacy code). Are you sure you had problems when it was off?
Confirmation
Just wanted to confirm that it is Windows DPI settings causing this. I've just checked to make sure DirectDraw is off (It was) and switched back and forth between DPI settings. At 100% ES looks great. At 150 it takes up only the top left third or so of the screen.
Windows 7 x64 ES 2.7 B34
A Sort of Fix
Right click on the "Run Fullscreen" shortcut ES makes in the start menu when it installs itself.
Click properties
Click the compatibility tab
Check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
Now I just have to figure out how to apply that to the screensaver.
